Canny + Slack

Canny · Slack

Alert Slack when Canny feedback changes status

Connect your own Canny API key and subdomain. In Canny Settings → API & Webhooks, add the FastHook endpoint shown on the connected account and save the separate whsec_ signing secret in FastHook. Select the matching Canny event for that endpoint. A paused FastHook workflow does not remove the Canny endpoint. Connect Slack and choose a channel. Status changes send the post title, new status and link. Canny may send the current object rather than a before-and-after diff; this recipe does not claim the previous status. Turn off voter notification in any separate status-changing Action unless intended.

Send new Canny feedback to Slack

Connect your own Canny API key and subdomain. In Canny Settings → API & Webhooks, add the FastHook endpoint shown on the connected account and save the separate whsec_ signing secret in FastHook. Select the matching Canny event for that endpoint. A paused FastHook workflow does not remove the Canny endpoint. Connect Slack and choose a channel. New posts send title, board, status and link as plain text, without author email or full post details. A manual rerun can send another message.

Canny + Webhook

Webhook · Canny

Create a Canny feedback post from a webhook

Connect your own Canny API key and subdomain. Enter a board ID and author ID from your Canny workspace before activation. Send a JSON object with title and details to the generated FastHook webhook URL. Each accepted request creates a new post, which can notify Canny users; authenticate the webhook and avoid retrying an uncertain write. The workflow starts inactive.

Connect Canny

In Canny Settings → API & Webhooks, copy an API key. In FastHook, enter your Canny subdomain and key. FastHook verifies access through the official Boards API and stores the key encrypted. To use instant triggers, add the endpoint shown in FastHook to Canny and save its separate webhook signing secret in the connection.

02

Map your Workflow data

Connect your accounts and map the required fields from earlier steps. Test with data you control before activation.

Before you activate

The catalog includes 54 Actions and 17 native webhook event Triggers from the official Canny API reference. Availability depends on your plan, key permissions and enabled features; catalog coverage does not mean every operation was live tested. Canny webhook endpoints are configured and removed manually in Canny. Pausing a FastHook workflow stops local processing; remove an unused remote endpoint in Canny. Use the webhook signing secret only for incoming event verification. The API key is separate and is sent in the JSON body of official Canny API requests. List Actions return one page. Pass the documented cursor or skip value to fetch subsequent pages. Canny applies plan-specific rate limits and may return Retry-After with HTTP 429. Post creation, votes and other writes may notify users or consume plan allowances. Test with a dedicated board and review repeated delivery effects before activating a workflow. Disconnecting removes the saved FastHook connection. Revoke or rotate the key in Canny to end provider-side access.
