Log finished Katalon test runs in Google Sheets

Append finished Katalon test runs to a Google Sheets register using polling. Connect Katalon and Google Sheets, optionally override the default Katalon project in Trigger Configure, then choose a destination spreadsheet and worksheet. Columns A–G contain Run ID, Name, Lifecycle stage, Test outcome, Start time, End time and Project ID. Values use RAW input so names beginning with an equals sign stay text. The first poll establishes a baseline and does not import existing runs. Terminal stages COMPLETED, TERMINATE, ERROR and CANCELLED require an end time; COMPLETED does not mean tests passed. Polling is best effort under concurrent page changes. Protect access to the destination sheet. Pausing stops polling. Sample IDs are fictional, and no personal account or spreadsheet is embedded.

Import a JUnit File into Katalon from a webhook

Import one JUnit XML report through Katalon’s official allocate, binary upload and registration flow. Connect Katalon on all three Actions, enter the same numeric project ID in Allocate upload URL and Register JUnit report, and enter a report folder path in Register JUnit report. Send a FastHook File as file plus a fresh globally unique batch string. The example File is a fictional passing test, not a real test execution. The upload is raw PUT to Katalon-allocated signed storage, with no API key sent to storage. Files are limited to 25 MiB. Registration returns 204; parsing happens asynchronously and must be checked in Katalon Executions. Do not reuse the batch across projects or report types. Protect the source URL and check existing imports before rerunning uncertain submissions. New tenant accounts need the legacy CI import API entitlement.

Create a Katalon manual test case from a webhook

Create one manual test case from incoming JSON containing name, description and a steps array with description/expectedResult fields. Connect Katalon, set Repository ID to a writable Cloud repository, and set Folder path to an existing test-case folder rawPath. Find these with Search test repositories and Search test folders; a repository ID is different from the default project ID. Protect the incoming webhook before activation. The template creates a manual test asset and does not run tests. Only new requests after activation are processed. Repeated requests and manual reruns can create additional cases; inspect Katalon before retrying an uncertain creation. The example is fictional.

Connect Katalon

Choose Katalon in your Workflow and enter your HTTPS tenant URL, an active Katalon API key from User Settings, and the numeric default project ID from your project URL. The connection checks project access. Leave Legacy TestCloud JWT blank for modern v2 operations; the older Bearer endpoints need an existing token, replaced when it expires. Map resource IDs and request fields before activating.

02

Map your Workflow data

Connect your accounts and map the required fields from earlier steps. Test with data you control before activation.

03

Before you activate

A free Katalon trial can be used to test eligible API operations. Continued API access and individual features depend on Katalon’s current plan, roles and product entitlements. FastHook does not make paid Katalon features free. Use your tenant origin, for example https://ac-123456.katalon.io. Project context defaults to your connection and can be overridden in an Action. Repository and folder IDs are separate from project IDs. Polling is not an instant webhook. The first poll establishes a baseline without importing existing runs. Finished-run events require a terminal stage and an end time; a completed run does not necessarily mean tests passed. The API key is stored encrypted. Disconnecting stops FastHook access; it does not revoke the shared key in Katalon. Revoke a compromised key in Katalon User Settings. Legacy shared-host endpoints may be unavailable for newer tenant accounts. Administrative, TrueTest, TestCloud and execution APIs require the corresponding permissions and products. Katalon uploads use a full presigned storage URL and raw binary PUT, not multipart. Files are limited to 25 MiB in FastHook. Allocate a fresh URL when one expires; importing the uploaded report is a separate Action. Mutation requests are not automatically repeated after an uncertain provider response. Check Katalon before rerunning a creation or execution workflow.
