Ready-made Workflow

Notify Slack about new Asana tasks

Notify a Slack channel when a task is created in or added to selected Asana projects. Connect Asana and Slack, choose one or more projects with the standard browser, then select the destination Slack channel. Asana webhook events contain a task identifier but may omit display fields, so FastHook retrieves the current task before sending the notification. Each plain-text message includes the task name, project name, creator, creation time and a direct Asana task link. The fictional example uses German characters and contains no real customer data. Only task-added events received after activation are processed; existing tasks, later edits, comments, completions and deletions are excluded. Asana can emit this event both when a task is created directly in a selected project and when an existing task is later added to it. A multi-homed task added to several watched projects can produce more than one notification. The connected account must be able to read the task when the workflow runs. Task descriptions, assignees, due dates, attachments, comments and custom fields are not copied. Task names and project metadata become visible to members of the selected Slack channel, who still need Asana permission to open the source link. Wait for the Trigger to show Connected before creating a test task. Link and media previews are disabled. Provider retries or manual reruns may post a duplicate notification.
